NOVEMBER 2025

November was an activity packed Month at Excelsior.

The month started by hosting  The 13th Interschool debate  for N.M. Joseph Neerakal and N.J. Chacko Neroth memorial trophies and Malayalam essay writing competition instituted in the name of Mr and Mrs Monsi George Ex- Principal Excelsior.

A day long event in which students from 12 Schools participated in two categories.

Mar Baselious School was adjudged the winners of the Senior category while Chinmaya Vidyalaya took the trophy in the junior category.

Mary Mount Public School Kattachira got the trophy for the Malayalam essay writing competition.

Roll of Honour

Wings of Awareness – Irene (Grade 7) and Regunandan (Grade 6) emerged as Excelsior’s top birdwatchers under the Wings of Awareness programme. They shared their field experiences and were appreciated at the Kottayam Press Club.

SMILE – The school celebrated its Annual Day, SMILE, on the 27th and 28th of November on the school campus. Dr. Bobby Kunnel, Physician and Screenwriter, was the Chief Guest for Jr. SMILE, and Shri. Rishiraj Singh IPS graced Sr. SMILE as the Chief Guest. It was a memorable event that honoured significant days, inspired social awareness, and displayed rich cultural diversity with lively performances.

Excelsior English School SDG Conclave 2025 
The SDG Conclave 2025 was inaugurated today by Shri. Chetan Kumar Meena, IAS, Hon. District Collector, Kottayam.

More than eight schools from across Kottayam are participating in the conclave, engaging in discussions on ten Sustainable Development Goals. Students will identify key challenges faced by each Indian state and propose innovative strategies and solutions to address them.

Nature Conservation Drive – A procession was led by the students of Excelsior English School to the Thazhatangadi River, emphasizing the importance of conserving water bodies and protecting biodiversity. The event included kayaking in the Thazhatangadi River and a tree planting initiative by the Rotary Club Kottayam East in association with Excelsior English School in the presence of former Chairman of Kottayam Muncipaity, Sri M.P Santhosh Kumar. Students participated with enthusiasm and team spirit.

Skating Champions! – Excelsior English School secured the championship title at the 3rd Inter-School Roller Skating Championship of the Central Sahodaya Conclave Kottayam, hosted by Mar Baselios Public School.

A Journey into the World of Birds – Members of Wings of Awareness group visited Malarickal for bird watching and spotted many rare birds.

Highlights

Oru Kai Oru Pothi – A long-standing project of Excelsior English School, through which students from Grades V to XII donate 400–425 food packets monthly to the Navjeevan Trust, fostering compassion and social responsibility among students.

The Pathfinders 2024 launched a project to feed hungry birds by placing bird feeders across the campus—spreading care and kindness to our feathered friends.

Excelsior English School won the Overall Championship at the MERAKI Interschool Fest 2025! Congratulations to all!

The Central Sahodaya Conclave Kottayam Inter-School Digital Fest Competition, Excelsior English School won the  2nd Prize.
