The visit to the Post office gave a better understanding of the role and responsibilities of postmaster and postman. The postmaster explained to the students how letters were collected and delivered to their destinations. The students also posted cards in postbox which was totally a new experience for them. The field trip was an enjoyable and informative experience for the children as most of them were seeing the post office for the first time. This day marks the anniversary of the Tunguska catastrophe , a large asteroid impact that happened in Siberia in 1908, and aims to raise awareness about the potential threat of asteroids to our planet and promote their study and exploration. June 26 is observed as International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Grade XB conducted an assembly on the need to spread awareness about the disastrous consequences of drug abuse & the imperative need to check its tentacles in society. The theme for 2023 is People first: stop stigma and discrimination, strengthen prevention.” The need for a people centered approach for antidrug policies with a focus on human rights, compassion & evidence based practices is evident. The main aim is to treat with empathy those caught in this vicious net, prioritising prevention & being nonjudgmental. A pledge against drug abuse was taken by the students during the assembly. Reading Day June 19 celebrated as Reading day is taken up as Reading Challenge @ Excelsior. It starts from June 19 & goes on to July 18. A group of enthusiastic 9th graders took on the responsibility of conducting numerous activities throughout the month.
