A Journey into the World of Birds – Members of Wings of Awareness group visited Malarickal for bird watching and spotted many rare birds.
ACHIEVEMENT – We are proud to announce that our students did exceedingly well at a TRIVIDHA 2025, an Interschool competition held at BMM School, Pampady on September 27, 2025. Our students from the Commerce department also won the overall championship!! ✨️✨️

Bhavasudha 2025 – Off-Stage Events held on 13 September 2025 at Excelsior English School saw talented students from 13 schools showcase creativity and skill through various competitions. Congratulations to all participants and winners for making the event vibrant and memorable!
Educational Visit – Grade 11 and 12 Home Science students visited The Taj Resort and Spa, Kumarakom for a field trip on Hospitality Management, gaining valuable insights into the resort’s operations and departments. It was an enriching learning experience.
BizFair 2025, a commerce exhibition by Grades 11 and 12, showcased student creativity through models and presentations on Accountancy, Business Studies, and Economics. Topics included GST, E-Business, Financial Statements, and Rural Development, promoting practical understanding, teamwork, and market awareness.
SMART BRAINS – SMART MINDS An interactive session by Dr. Varghese P. Punnose, Principal and Professor of Psychiatry, Govt. Medical College Kottayam, focused on brain development, mental well-being, and academic success. Students gained valuable insights on managing stress, building positive relationships, and enhancing emotional intelligence.
Educational Visit – Grade 11 and 12 History and Political Science students had a field trip to Mysore, visiting Mysore Palace, Jaganmohan Palace, St. Philomena’s Church, Payana Car Museum, Melkote, and Sukavana. The trip highlighted the cultural, political, and historical significance of these landmarks
Entrepreneurship Activity – Learning by Doing (XII) Grade 12 students took part in the Marshmallow and Noodle Stick Challenge, promoting teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. The fun, hands-on task encouraged planning and collaboration while building the tallest free-standing structure using limited materials.
Educational Visit – Grade XII Commerce students visited Chandrans Steel Factory, Coimbatore, and NC John Garments Pvt. Ltd., Tiruppur, gaining practical insights into management principles, production processes, and industrial safety.
Achievement – Our student short film “PAPER SKIES” won the Special Jury Mention and a ₹5000 cash prize at the TALKS India Short Film Competition 2025. Congratulations to the talented team behind this remarkable creation!

JUNIOR SCHOOL ONAM CELEBRATIONS – 2025 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 26 ന് ജൂനിയർ സ്കൂൾ ഓണാഘോഷം പൂർണ്ണ ഊർജ്ജസ്വലതയോടെയും വർണ്ണാഭമായും നടന്നു. ജോയ്ഫുൾ ബിഗിനേഴ്‌സ് മുതൽ ഗ്രേഡ് IV വരെയുള്ള വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ ഓണത്തിന്റെ സന്തോഷം പങ്ക് വയ്ക്കുന്ന വൈവിധ്യമാർന്ന പരിപാടികൾ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. കുട്ടികൾ ഉത്സാഹത്തോടെ ഓണം ആഘോഷിച്ചപ്പോൾ, ഉജ്ജ്വലമായ ഗാനങ്ങൾ, ചടുലനൃത്തങ്ങൾ, ഓണത്തിൻ്റെ തനിമ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന തിരുവാതിര,വഞ്ചിപ്പാട്ട് തുടങ്ങിയവയാൽ ഓണാഘോഷം നിറവാർന്നു.

 

SENIOR SCHOOL ONAM CELEBRATIONS – Our school came alive with color and cheer as we celebrated Onam through vibrant cultural performances, the joyful visit of Maveli, a traditional Onasadya, and spirited games. Wishing everyone peace, prosperity, and happiness this Onam.

 

EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIP – As a part of an experiential learning initiative, Fashion studies and Home science visited a local antique shop. The shop offered a captivating collection of artifacts, from intricately carved furniture, traditional utensils and age – old decor pieces. The purpose of this visit is to ignite creative thinking and inspire design innovation. Encouraging them to observe and analyze traditional design elements and to develop original motifs and design concepts from the textures, patterns and craftsmanship observed in the antiques

 

JWALA 2025 – The curtain rose on Jwala – Excelsior English School’s Youth Festival for 2025-26, with a show of culture and creativity. The Chief Guest for the occasion was known Malayalam actor, Shri. P N Sunny, known for his roles in movies such as Spadikam and Joji. Following the lighting of the lamp, the festival was declared open by Director Mr. N J Mathew. The three-day festival was a wonderful celebration of fiery talent and youthful spirit.

 

Azadi Ka Utsav – Cultural Fiesta Excelsior English School celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15 August 2025 with a flag hoisting ceremony and patriotic cultural performances. The “Tiranga Tribute” Dress Competition showcased students’ creativity and national pride, celebrating the spirit of freedom and unity.
Unleash the Patriot 🇮🇳 The Social Science Department hosted the Independence Day Quiz Competition on August 13, 2025. The event tested students’ knowledge of India’s history and freedom struggle, igniting enthusiasm and patriotic spirit among all participants.
Celebrating Freedom through Art 🇮🇳 The Social Science Department hosted a Bulletin Board Competition on August 13, 2025, themed “Honouring Freedom, Inspiring the Future.” Students showcased exceptional creativity, depicting India’s journey to freedom and its bright future through inspiring displays of art and patriotism.
Investiture Ceremony 2025 Excelsior English School celebrated the Investiture Ceremony 2025 with pride and inspiration as newly elected Student Council leaders took charge with confidence. Mr. Joe A. Scaria, senior journalist and Kerala Correspondent of Gulf News, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, sharing valuable insights on leadership and responsibility. Congratulations to all our young leaders!
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievement of Advaith Vijay of Grade V A for securing Zonal Rank 1 in the International Maths Olympiad 2024- ’25 and receiving a cash award of Rs. 5000/- Congratulations Advaith, and keep up the great work!

AN INTERACTIVE SESSION WITH DR. SHASHI THAROOR – Students of Excelsior English School had a stimulating interaction with Dr. Shashi Tharoor, at the recently held Talks India event at CMS College, Kottayam. Dr. Tharoor spoke about his vision for Kerala’s development, and discussed key themes like retaining talent in Kerala, and empowering youth to be agents of change. The extended Q&A session was an empowering opportunity for our students to ask questions, reflect, and have a thoughtful exchange of ideas about Kerala’s young citizens, with the MP.

World Chocolate Day – July 7 Excelsior’s Home Science Department celebrated the day with a delightful food stall featuring a variety of chocolate treats, spreading sweetness and joy across the campus.
National Doctor’s Day – July 1, 2025 Theme: “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?” Excelsior students expressed gratitude through heartfelt videos and posters, honouring doctors for their courage, care, and compassion while recognizing their unseen struggles.
International Yoga Day – June 21 Theme: “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” Excelsior English School celebrated the day highlighting yoga’s role in nurturing well-being and harmony, aligning body, mind, and spirit for a healthier planet.
National Reading Day was celebrated at Excelsior English School on June 19th with the theme “Reading: Connecting People Across Generations in Society.” The day highlighted the power of books to inspire minds, bridge generations, and shape a brighter future — Read today, lead tomorrow!
Merit Day 2025 celebrated the outstanding achievements of Excelsior students in the SSE and SSCE exams, honouring their hard work and perseverance. Orientation Day 2025 warmly welcomed the new Grade XI batch and their parents, marking fresh beginnings and shared aspirations.

PROUD ACHIEVEMENT – Excelsior English School won the “Swach Champion” Award for being the cleanest school in Kottayam, recognized by the Kottayam Municipality for its cleanliness and waste management. The honour reflects the success of the school’s Mr. Mindfulness campaign promoting reduce, reuse, and recycle practices.

Trailblazing Leadership – Dr. Kiran Bedi On March 14, 2025, at CMS College, Kottayam, Dr. Kiran Bedi delivered an inspiring talk on “Police, Public, and Policy: My Lessons in Leadership and Nation-Building.” She shared insights from her journey as India’s first woman IPS officer, emphasizing integrity, reform, and service. The interactive session left students motivated and inspired.

Activity Day 2024–25 – A vibrant day celebrating creativity, fitness, and talent through yoga, dance, music, digital art, abacus, karate, skating, and more. The event showcased students’ skills and enthusiasm, concluding with a Fine Arts exhibition and inspiring messages from the Principal and faculty.
Science Week Celebration: As part of the National Science Week celebrations, the Department of Science hosted ‘Genius Gala – 2025,’ which was inaugurated by Er. N. J. Mathew, Director of Excelsior English School. A week-long celebration of Science Day “The Genius Gala” from February 24th to 28th 2025 focusing on the theme “ science for sustainable development, promoting green technologies” featured engaging activities and exploration, inspiring young minds to embrace the wonders of science.

Excelsior hosted an awareness session initiated by the Department of Computer Science under the theme ‘Cyber Crime and IT Laws.’ Adv. Sindu Peter, a renowned criminal lawyer, led the session. Children gained valuable insights into cyber threats, ways to protect themselves, and the legal framework surrounding cyber crimes. It was an engaging, informative, and interactive session.

DENTAL AWARENESS PROGRAMME – 14 February 2025. As part of an initiative by the Council on Dental Health, Excelsior hosted a dental awareness program last Friday. Dr. Geeve, Dr. Rahul, Dr. Kartik, and Dr. Priya headed the programme. The main theme of this awareness was titled ‘Crush to Brush.’ They spoke to the students of middle school on the importance of oral hygiene. It was an interactive session & quite a few myths about dental hygiene were cleared.

Grade III Assembly on Cyber Safety Skit: “Think Before You Click” The students of Grade III presented an informative assembly on Cyber Safety, focusing on the theme “Think Before You Click.” The skit aimed to educate young learners about safe online practices and the importance of being cautious while using the internet.

Excelsior English School celebrated the Junior School Annual Sports Day on February 5, 2025, with a range of athletic events that encouraged sportsmanship and enthusiasm among the students.
As part of the school’s monthly charity drive , money was collected across the school and the amount handed over to Mr. P. U Thomas of Navajeevan Trust, Kottayam. This has been an initiative of the school for the past 15 years.

PSYCHOLOGY DRAMA – “The Mind Behind Power” On January 20, 2025, the Psychology Department staged a play on Adolf Hitler, exploring his rise to power and traits linked to Narcissistic Personality Disorder. The students delivered powerful performances, bringing psychological concepts vividly to life.
GOONJ – Giving with Dignity As part of a Student Council initiative, Grades 7 and 8 attended an interactive session by Goonj, an NGO that transforms urban waste into rural resources. A collection drive on January 3, 2025, saw students donate clothes, books, stationery, and bags, all handed over to Goonj to support communities in need.

The world Hindi day is celebrated on January 10th every year to promote Hindi as one of the most widely spoken languages around the world .The theme for World Hindi Day 2025 is “The Global Voice Of Unity And Culture Pride”.

Field Trip – Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences (TIES), Pampady, Kerala Objective –The purpose of this field trip was to enhance students’ understanding of ecological conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable living practices by visiting TIES, a well-known ecological research center. Also given a training section about the cultivation of Mushroom.
Computer Science Week 2025 – Creativity Meets Responsibility The Computer Science Department organized Digital Painting and PPT competitions to celebrate creativity and digital responsibility. Along with showcasing talent, students learned about online safety, digital citizenship, and responsible tech use through interactive sessions and discussions.
Excelsior celebrated Christmas on the 20th of December. It was a plethora of events put forward by our beloved students which included Christmas Carols, Nativity Play, Untold story of Santa Claus & Significance of christmas & its decor. The programme came to an end by a short message by Rosey Ma’am.

Business Studies Field Trip – Gourami Fish Farm Grade XI students visited Gourami Fish Farm on December 11, 2024, gaining valuable insights into fish farming practices. The team’s warm hospitality and expert guidance made it a memorable and enriching learning experience.

Way to Maths Balance ➗ The Mathematics Department organised an engaging talk on “Way to Maths Balance” for Grades VI–IX on November 21, 2024. Dr. G. S. Venu, Principal of Harvest Public School, Malappuram, inspired students through interactive discussions and real-life examples, highlighting self-discipline, perseverance, and the real-world relevance of Mathematics.
Excelsior English School secured the overall 2nd position in the Science and Maths exhibition held at Mar Baselios Public School under the Central Sahodaya Conclave Kottayam. Congratulations to the students and teachers who made this possible.
SMILE 2K24 – Excelsior’s Annual Day, SMILE 2K24, celebrated the theme “The Soundtrack of Our Lives” with vibrant statewise songs and dances by students from Grades 1–12. The Junior section’s event on Nov 14 featured Mr. Sajju C. Mathew as Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. C. T. Aravindakumar, Vice-Chancellor of M.G. University, graced the Senior section on Nov 15.
Grade XI and XII students opting for CS, IP and AI attended the talk on “AI and the Future of Education Empowering Next-Gen Creativity and Critical Thinking” by Mr. Ajith Balakrishnan, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Rediff.com. The talk was organized by Talks India and Kottayam Public Library.
