In February, the school witnessed a vibrant mix of academic, cultural, and extracurricular activities.

‘Pariksha Pe Charcha ‘ sessions were attended by all the Teachers , Secondary and Sr.Sec Students in School. The sessions highlighted the importance of maintaining a positive mindset, time management, and holistic development beyond academics.

The School successfully hosted the Second Level of the SOF Olympiads on February 8th Sunday. Almost 300 students from Kottayam and nearby districts took the exam.

The event was conducted in a well-organized manner, ensuring a smooth and fair examination process.

Students of Grades VII presented a wonderful assembly celebrating the spirit of Tribal India through voices, rhythm, and craft. The assembly was followed by an exhibition,on the Tribal art and culture, showcasing indigenous wisdom, traditional art, and cultural pride. The vibrant performances highlighted the rich diversity of tribal traditions, while the exhibition offered a glimpse into the creativity and resilience of India’s indigenous communities.

 

All the teachers attended a Management Development Programme on Gamification for Learning & Development, conducted by RESORCIO .

The session introduced innovative strategies to integrate game-based elements into teaching, making learning more engaging and interactive.

 

TIES – Team had released the list of the *Best performing students* of the WINGS OF AWARENESS bird watching programme.

They are  rewarded with the opportunity to participate in an exclusive birdwatching field trip, aimed at further enhancing their field-based learning and engagement with biodiversity documentation on February 25th .

We are proud of our students …for making use of this opportunity to connect with nature and the biodiversity

 

Students of Grade IV were taken on a field trip to “Real Pathiri “ a  small-scale food processing facility dedicated to producing pathiri —

Students got to see the different stages of pathiri production and the different process like cleaning, milling, dough preparation, sheet forming, cooking, and packaging in a hygienic and efficient process.

The students of Grades 1, 2, and 3 went on a field trip to the Children’s Library and Outdoor Park on 16/2/26. They read books in the library and played in the outdoor park, enjoying physical activities and socializing with peers. The trip combined learning and fun, promoting a love for reading and outdoor activities.

 

The Home science and Fashion Studies students of grade 11 participated in “Artist in me”* a workshop on clay craft organized by the Home science department of CMS College.  This workshop was an extension to the design principles they learn in class. Students had the opportunity to explore their creativity by experimenting with different clay techniques, textures, and forms.

 

Students of Grades IV  and V had a special session with Advocate Bessie Tom  on Social awareness  She spoke about  respecting others and being responsible citizens. . She also encouraged students to use social media carefully and wisely.  The session was very informative and motivated students  to become better individuals.

 

Bagless day for Grade XI was conducted on the topic Financial literacy and Entrepreneurship. Experts in the field conducted an engaging and interactive session . Students were introduced to practical concepts such as budgeting, saving, investment, and the basics of entrepreneurial thinking.

It was a highly enriching experience that connected classroom learning with essential life skills, preparing students to face the future with confidence and responsibility.

 

 

Special  assemblies were conducted by the Junior School and Middle School  on the Topics Valentine’s Day, and‘ World Mother language Day 2026”

A variety programme in different languages was organized on the theme celebrating linguistic diversity and cultural identity.Students presented songs, poems, and skits in their mother tongues, highlighting the beauty and uniqueness of each language.
The event fostered respect for multilingualism and encouraged students to take pride in their heritage while appreciating the richness of global cultures.

 

A Cultural exchange programme was organized for the History and Political Science students of our school with Clayton Moorre School Georgia US where students from both the sides discussed and cleared doubts on  the culture of Kerala and Georgia. The interaction provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, enabling students to compare traditions, lifestyles, and historical influences of the two regions.
It fostered mutual respect and understanding, while also broadening perspectives on global citizenship and cultural diversity.

 

The Commerce Department conducted an Inter-House Fest AGORA 2026 on 27 February. Different events were conducted on this day, especially Corporate Walk, Business Skit, Product Launch, Business Quiz, and Treasure Hunt.
The fest provided  students of Grades VI to XI a dynamic platform for students to showcase their creativity, analytical skills, and entrepreneurial spirit.

 

A Parent Orientation Programme  was organised in school for Parents of Grades V to VIII  on 27/02/26 by RESORCIO on the theme Parenting Perspective. The session aimed at guiding parents to understand the evolving needs of children in middle school and to adopt effective parenting strategies.

 

National Science Day, celebrated on February 28, was observed as a week-long celebration at the school.
Students actively participated in a seed-bombing activity — planting change for a greener future, one seed at a time.
A variety of engaging programmes were organized, including a Science Exhibition and a fascinating Science Magic Show that captured the curiosity of young minds.
Competitions such as Dress Up Like a Scientist and Science Storytelling added creativity and fun to the celebrations, allowing students to blend imagination with scientific thought.
The week-long observance not only highlighted the importance of scientific innovation but also encouraged students to embrace sustainability, inquiry, and creativity in everyday life.

 

The Month that went by…January 2026

The New year started on a serious note with Model and Board Practical examination for Grade XII followed by Second Model Exam for Grades X and XII.

The assembly on New year Resolutions by Grade IV, Prep 1, Prep II Sports day, the arrangements and participation in the Central Sahodaya Conclave Science and Maths exhibition brought in cheer and excitement.

Our school bagged the Overall Championship in the Science Exhibition held at Mar Baselios Public School, Kottayam.

Our School hosted the CSCK Football tournament in which Excelsior emerged winners both Under 15 and Under 17 categories. BMM Pambady bagged the Runners Up trophy.

Bagless days were organised for Grades V & VI and Grades VII & VIII on different days on the topics ‘Mind mastery and Memory Boosting’ and ‘Transition in Teenage Health’. Both the sessions were thought provoking and creatively engaging.

Students of Grades VII and VIII were taken on an excursion to Poovar and Grades V and VI were taken to the adventure park at Greenburg on different dates.

A few field trips were also organised. Grade IV students were taken to the baking unit of Best Bakers where kids got to observe how biscuits, cakes and bread were made. They got to do icing on cakes – a first-hand experience on making sweets and savories. Students of Grades VI were taken to visit the railway station. Grade V Students were taken to the Blind school, Olasa to observe how they function and to spend some quality time with those children. The teachers went on a 2-day thrilling trip to Athirapally Vazhachal.

Students of Grades Prep 1 to Grade 2 took part in the CSCK Kids Fest organised by Cross Roads Public School, in which almost all the students had won prizes and our student Leonel of Grade 1 was adjusted the Kalaprathibha in that category.

The second level of the Orchid Spelling bee was conducted in the school campus.

A dental camp and awareness programme was organised in the campus by the dentists from Pushpagiri Dental college on Jan 29. Students of Grades 1 to XI were examined, guided and given tips on maintaining good oral hygiene.

On January 30th, an assembly was conducted by Grade VIII on the theme ‘MARTYR’S DAY’ reinforcing the values of patriotism and courage.

The activity packed month came to an end with the CSCK interschool Chess tournament conducted by Mar Baselios Public School in which three of our students Ryan Joseph ( XI), Ayaan Ahmed( IX) and Vihan( V) bagged the first and fifth positions respectively in their respective categories.

Our student Tanvi Sunil Pillai of Grade VIII won the FIRST PRIZE at the English Essay Writing Competition conducted by the Inner Wheel Club of Kottayam, held at the Kottayam Public Library on 31st Jan, 2026.

To sum up, the various events and initiatives this month have been a great learning experience, and we’re looking forward to more in the coming months.
